Here I Come, SMU

Posted on: September 9, 2008

After years of lamenting whether I will be able to enter a local University with my ailing school results, I am glad to announce that I am offered admission into Singapore Management University (SMU)’s Bachelor of Business Management programme at Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) for the Academic Year 2010-11.

Yes, this is rather late news. I received the notification on 20 June. I had also previously wrote a note at Mr. D. Well, I haven’t had a chance to write about it until now since I haven’t been blogging…

Yes, I am going to Business Management instead of Accountancy. Actually I was first offered admission to the Accountancy programme at SMU but I appealed to Business Management and I got it. Being offered Accountancy was great because I screwed up my interview. Having my appeal gone through was unbelieveable.

Yes, a Business Management degree is known to be more general than an Accountancy degree. However, I am planning to work towards the specialised tracks of Wealth Management or Investment Banking within the degree. If I manage some funding from scholarships, I might want to try doing a second major in Law or Social Sciences also. I think the Li Ka Shing Library will be my second home… Hopefully, I will be able to go on an exchange programme at one of the over 140 universities in 41 countries.

I know I am so going to have fun in the vibrant school environment. For now, I have to concentrate on fulfilling my national service liability first…
