Sitting Posture on Bus

After coming back from Cambodia, I think the strenuous labour work hurt my back… The condition of my back hasn’t been too good since I return… My lower back aches nowadays… I also seem to be hunching my back a little when I sit so I have been taking note of this bad habit and trying to salvage the situation…

Something to share today… Sitting right on bus seats…

The design of bus seats are in such a manner that the lower part is lifted out to support our lower back and the higher part is leaned backwards…

So when you sit out a little and hunch a little, there will not be support for your lower back and the seat kind of make you close your shoulders up and hunch all the way… Look at the black line in the left picture below. The black line indicates the curving impact on your backbone. This is very damaging to your back in the long term…

The correct or better way to sit is to (refer to right picture on top), tuck your buttocks inwards the seat, sit upright and rest fully on the seat. Your back will be fully supported by the seat and it will be healthier for your backbone…
